This year, Smart Women’s Empowerment is focused on taking you through a journey to Unlock Your Financial Power so you can create wealth, make a difference, and create a life you love. We have provided you with stepping stones to stand in your financial power each month:

  • We began the year by interviewing best-selling financial author, Barbara Huson (formerly Barbara Stanny), who shared her secrets on reWIRING the brain and overcoming fear of change.
  • We addressed the power of goals with two expert radio interviews and Julia Griffin’s article, Five Steps for Manifesting Your Dreams in February.
  • In March, we addressed the nuts and bolts of “money” through expert interviews with financial authors Natalie Pace (ABCs of Money) and Bari Tessler (The Art of Money).
  • Last month, we addressed Dealing with the Reality of Debt with interviews and articles from April Benson (I Shop, Therefore I Am), and Robin Thompson (Increasing Your Cash Flow) where we discussed how to Escape the Debt Trap.

It’s been an amazing experience to speak to these brilliant women and to share their wisdom with members of our Smart Women Community!  I’m honored to have this opportunity to be the spokesperson for this wonderful mission as we continue to empower thousands of women globally.

This month, we are addressing the issue of Standing in Your Power with Money, so I have invited international speaker, best-selling author, and global women’s advocate, Anne Doyle (Powering Up), to join us as we discuss How to Play the Woman Card Effectively. Author Koorosh Ostowari (The Money Anxiety Cure) will share his wisdom along with his insightful Money Quiz later this month.

To stand in your financial power incorporates a two-step process:

Step 1:  You must first address the inner work of money. – This includes our beliefs or mindset around money.  I call this your Money Personality.  You need to get to the core of what you believe, were told and experienced, so you can understand why you do what you do.  This will take some time, but it’s worth it.

Step 2:  Now you can begin the outer work of money. – This is where you take action and begin to initiate the steps involved in creating wealth. This includes getting organized, seeing where you stand financially with a financial inventory, telling the truth about what needs to be addressed such as debt, no cash reserve, living beyond your means, not earning what you are worth, not having a Power of Attorney or Will, and not contributing to your retirement plan.  You get the idea.

The key is that you must follow the process in order. This means doing the inner work first, and then you can address the outer work.  In my course, Unlock Your Financial Power, I address the inner work, including step-by-step exercises for creating your vision, identifying your values and how they tie to your goals, and your strengths and challenges in order to gain the clarity and commitment to follow through with your dreams.

I’m so passionate about this process that I offer this course free to our Smart Women Community.  If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to  register here for the course and schedule time to work through the ten exercises.  Once you finish, you can begin the outer work of creating wealth and a life you love.  I’ve given you many free resources at the end of the course to help you get started.
