It’s that time of year when we are gearing up for the holidays, shopping, and finishing up loose ends. It’s also the time when we need to review all our financial stuff whether we are still working or retired. This includes things like our year-end tax planning, reviewing and making changes to our employee benefit statements, 401(k), health insurance, HSAs, FSAs, and HRAs. This is also when you can join, switch or drop your Medicare plans. For those looking to retire in 2023, it’s the perfect time to begin exploring your options with Social Security. And it’s the time to be jolly!
To help you feel more confident with all of this, I have invited two of my long-time colleagues to join me on Smart Women Talk to share their best year-end planning tips!
I know talking about money, taxes, and estate planning is something that many run away from, but I promise these shows will be interesting, and you will receive tips you can implement immediately!
CPA, and personal financial advisor, Wayne Titus, will be sharing tips for saving on taxes, avoiding mistakes, as well as strategies for being proactive vs. reactive! Get out your pen and paper for this important show! Wayne has also written an article to help sort out the confusion of the Open Enrollment Alphabet. For example, last year my husband and I switched our Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to a Health Savings Account (HSA). It was a smart choice, and we are thrilled with the difference. Be sure to read Wayne’s article to see which plan is best for you!
Nationally-Known Estate Planning Attorney, On-Camera Legal Expert, and author of Trial and Heirs: Famous Fortune Fights, Danielle Mayoras and I will be sitting down to share not only some year-end planning tips, but taking you on a journey to explore the different types of planning you need based on what phase of your life you are in. Some of these tips you may want to know before you see your family members this holiday season. Plus, her book will make a great gift!
I am also leading my first two Social Security Optimization Seminars at my local library in Commerce Township November 15 and 17. As a Certified Social Security Claiming Specialist (CSSCS), I am teaching individuals how to avoid mistakes and to identify not only the best time to claim benefits, but also how to make their retirement savings last. Do you know it’s possible to increase your benefits by up to 108%?
I am facilitating these Social Security Seminars for the Adult Financial Education Council, a 501(c)3 organization with the mission of improving the financial literacy of Americans aged 60 and over who are concerned about their retirement savings and uncertain which steps they need to take in order to enjoy a safe and secure financial future. If you live near Commerce Township, Michigan and would like to be invited or to talk with me personally about how to optimize your benefits, email me at katana@katanaabbott.com or book a call with me at www.talkwithkatana.com.
