It’s been over a year since my breast cancer diagnosis in November 2023. I’m uncertain how I cleared my cancer in just seven months, mainly because I changed so many aspects of my diet and lifestyle. Thank God I caught it early and had the gift of time to research how to help my body heal. And miraculously, it did.
In June 2024, I underwent breast cryoablation. The doctor froze a 6-centimeter area using three probes where the original cancer had been. I did not have surgery, radiation, or drugs.
Since then, I have had three blood DNA tests that have confirmed I am cancer-free. I am incredibly grateful and fortunate because my health scare was a complete wake-up call for me. Even though I was doing some things right, I was neglecting other essential health habits. I was taking my health for granted.
If you are approaching midlife and are concerned about your health or facing any health issues for which you seek solutions, I hope you will join me to learn from both of these brilliant health experts.
THIS MONTH ON SMART WOMEN TALK
Please join me in learning from Hormone Balancing Fitness Expert Debra Atkinson, the Founder of Flipping 50®. Debra has helped over 250,000 women “flip” their second half with energy and vitality. Her TEDx talk is titled “Everything Women in Menopause Learned About Exercise May Be a Lie.” She will share metabolism myths and truths, along with the single most beneficial action you can take to maintain your health as you age.
In this interview, you will discover secrets for maintaining fitness at 50 and beyond through physical exercise, which is crucial for women’s strength and bone health, particularly in later years. What you do today will influence how you function in your 80s and 90s.
In my second interview, you will hear from Dr. Tom O’Bryan, a recognized expert with over 40 years of experience in gluten and its impact on health. Dr. Tom has identified how gluten can damage the intestines and may be the source of various diseases, including autoimmune disorders.
Did you know that there are over 100 known autoimmune diseases? Autoimmune diseases disproportionately affect women, with an estimated 80% of those diagnosed being female, while men account for the remaining 20%.
These conditions arise when the immune system incorrectly targets healthy body tissues, resulting in a variety of symptoms and health problems. Some common autoimmune diseases include:
-Rheumatoid arthritis
– Lupus
-Multiple sclerosis
-Type 1 diabetes
-Crohn’s disease
– Psoriasis
-Hashimoto’s disease
A few years ago, I interviewed Gerarda Pizzarello, who shared her story of being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and how her doctor prepared her for the worst by saying that she would soon be using a walker and then a wheelchair.
Then she experienced a miracle when a family friend sent her to the Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland to work with the world-renowned Dr. Thomas Rau. Dr. Rau recommended eliminating stressors such as gluten, sugar, dairy, and alcohol from her diet, along with a series of supplements. The clinic also offers treatments for emotional trauma and other healing modalities.
I was so impressed by Gerarda’s success that when I began my cancer healing journey in 2023, I started with Dr. Rau’s book, The Swiss Secret to Optimal Health, and his Detox Diet.
Today, in her sixties, Gerarda is free of symptoms. During her latest MRI with her neurologist, no signs of MS were detected. You can watch her interview HERE.
When I received my COVID booster a few years ago, I developed severe psoriasis on my back, neck, and shoulders. My doctor explained that it was a cytokine storm causing my body to attack itself.
In my research to learn more about cytokine storms, I discovered this study:
According to the May 26, 2022, issue of the Virology Journal, “COVID-19 can trigger a cytokine storm in pulmonary tissues through hyperactivation of the immune system and the uncontrolled release of cytokines.”
Remembering what Dr. Tom O’Bryan shared about gluten often causing autoimmune skin diseases, I immediately eliminated gluten, believing it could be a trigger. I also began taking a high dose of supplements called Orenda Immune Detox. The results were amazing. In four months, my skin completely cleared up.
I can see, however, why people take pharmaceutical drugs; psoriasis is not just unsightly- it is also very painful! Many pharmaceutical drugs, however, only address the symptoms, not the root cause.
You may have noticed that commercials promoting drugs to eliminate psoriasis often list numerous dangerous side effects, including death. This is absurd when there could be a simple solution, such as changing one’s diet and lifestyle.
Most doctors aren’t educated about alternative options such as diet and supplements. However, Dr. Tom discusses how Dr. Alessio Fasano, M.D., at Harvard Medical School, is now teaching students that “All disease begins in the leaky gut. “
In this show, you will learn more about Dr. Fasano’s Five Pillars in the Development of Chronic Inflammatory Diseases: Genes, Environmental Triggers, Microbiome of the Gut, Leaky Gut, and Systemic Inflammation.
I promise you will love these shows and leave with actionable steps! Please be sure to share them with others you know. While you are there, please subscribe, like, and share them!
