I hope you’re enjoying this beautiful season — soaking in the warmth, savoring slow mornings, and spending meaningful time with the people you love. Summer has a magical way of inviting us to pause, breathe, and return to what matters most.

This month, I invite you to ask yourself a powerful question:
What would it feel like to live every day in joy, freedom, and ease?

I truly believe it’s possible — not just on vacation or during a yoga class — but every day. The key? Learning to trust and be fully present in the moment.

Years ago, I was attending a spiritual retreat in Brazil when one of the facilitators noticed how I was always doing — checking my schedule, planning, staying busy. She gently said to me:

“For one to be truly healthy, we need 8 hours of rest, 8 hours of focus work, and 8 hours of allowing the mind to wander.”

At first, I didn’t quite understand. Let my mind wander? Isn’t that being unproductive?

But over time, I realized what she meant. Our minds — and our spirits — need space. Space to breathe. To dream. To notice the hummingbird outside the window, the wind brushing your face, the silence between thoughts.

To be honest, I’m still practicing this. I still love crossing off to-do lists! But lately, I’m choosing to take quiet walks without earbuds. I’m sitting outside without checking my phone. I’m giving myself permission to simply be.

And you know what? It feels good.

This month on Smart Women Talk, we’re going deeper into this idea of inner freedom and soulful living. I’ve invited two incredible guests who will guide you on the journey of letting go — of outdated beliefs, constant striving, and fear — so you can open to more joy, abundance, and clarity.

Dr. Shannon D. South, known as “The Joy Doctor,” is a best-selling author, therapist, and inspirational speaker who has spent over 25 years helping others heal from trauma and reconnect with their spiritual wholeness. She’ll be sharing:
– How to access your Inner Counselor for guidance and healing
– How to heal your way to success (yes, healing can lead to breakthroughs!)
– The 3 most common blocks to freedom and joy — and how to clear them

Kute Blackson, transformational speaker and author of The Magic of Surrender, will reveal how surrender — far from weakness — is the key to power and authenticity. You’ll learn:
– Why surrender can feel so hard (and how to shift your mindset around it)
– The myths and truths about letting go
– How surrender differs from passively “letting go” — and why it’s the path to your true purpose

Whether you’re learning to trust more deeply, let go of control, or simply be more present, I hope this issue inspires you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with your spirit.

After all, when we stop gripping so tightly…
That’s when we truly begin to soar.
