Chapter

How do you want to spend the next chapter of your life?

If you are 50+, do you plan to work forever? Maybe you prefer a life of leisure or a combination that is perfect for you.

According to a study by Age Wave and Merrill Lynch called, Leisure in Retirement:  Beyond the Bucket List, ” Rather than viewing retirement as the finish line, nine out of ten (88%) retirees now describe it as an opportunity for new beginnings, and often an entirely new state of mind.

There are 76 million Baby Boomers in the United States alone, and today, the youngest Baby Boomers are around 58 years old, and the oldest are in their 70s.

Where are you in this scenario?  Not a Boomer?  No problem.  Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many — not just Baby Boomers — are reexamining what they want from their lives and careers.  This trend is sending shock waves through the economy and companies are scrambling to reinvent what the work place looks like as we all figure out what it all means.

Are looking at the next chapter of your life and wondering “What’s Next?”  Many individuals are looking to create a life of meaning, purpose and a legacy that lives on.  The great thing, is that you are not alone and today there are so many resources to support you on your journey.

I will say that if you don’t pursue your life purpose or respond to that inner voice that may be calling out to you, watch out!  The Universe has a strange way of getting our attention, and it often shows up in our body.

I’m not sure to this day why I have such bad arthritis, but when I was 47, I was told that I needed both of my knees replaced, but I would have to wait till I was a bit older.  So it was my body that told me I needed to make a change.  It was a huge leap, but after taking a year off to see how my business ran without me, I decided to sell it to my partner, and I launched Smart Women’s Coaching.

It will be 15 years in January,  and I am so thrilled I made the change.  I will say that it was not easy.  I made mistakes, and I learned so much.  That’s right, our mistakes are often our greatest teachers.

The secret for my leap came from the step-by-step support I received from my coaches.  The good news is for those who are looking to transition at any age, there are so many resources and guides who can help make your transition so much smoother.  You do not have to do this alone.

I encourage you to visit the Smart Women’s Academy and at sign up for my free course, Unlock Your Financial Power.  You see it’s not a money course, although we do address money mindset.  It’s a six step process that will help you get clear on who you are, why you are here, what you really want and why, as well as all the challenges that are holding you back from moving forward.  Then for those who want to go deeper, I offer a free strategy session to help identify what’s next.

In addition, you can sign up for the course called, Turn Your Passion into Profit where you can learn experts who share tips on Second Acts and Encore Careers, Living the Laptop Lifestyle, Making Money and Loving What You Do.

This month, I’ve invited Midlife Courage Coach, Sheree Clark and Legacy Coach, Joanna Klein, to share their wisdom and tips on how to overcome fear when there is change, as well as how to live your legacy, because the life you lead is the legacy you leave.

Remember, you can now watch and listen to the interviews immediately, so watch for your emails on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
